Trying Amazon associate program

Amazon.com has been here since the dotcom boom in late 90s and is one of the largest online store currently, if not the largest.

Amazon has introduced their associate program for years, and I joined as member last year but didn’t really utilize on it after reading some forum comments on how difficult it is to make money with Amazon.

Frankly a 5-10% commission wasn’t that appealing at all, some serious tuning will need to be done on marketing and site intergration to get a good results.

My perception however took a big U-turn last month when I checked into my Amazon account.. I got a sale!

I’m pretty sure I only put up 2 Amazon links in one of my blog, and I didn’t even promoted the specific page.. yet I got a sale.

Suddenly I thought of the possibilities of making Amazon a secondary or even mainstream income for some websites. If I can master the conversion rate, it could build a better income than content websites relying on advertising revenue.

Despite it’s a small commission, a little below one dollar.. my perspective has changed overnight, I feel that I should at least give Amazon a try.

The question now is.. what am I going to sell? They are thousands of products available in Amazon nowadays, I got to find a niche of products for my market.
