4 simple way to make money from your blog
There are many ways to make money from your blog, I’m categorizing the options into 4 groups.
Sell Advertising
This is by far the most popular way to make money from blogging currently.
There are 2 ways to sell advertising, you can join advertising networks or set up your own ad selling system. For newbies it’s highly recommended to join ad networks than to sell ads by yourself.
Lots of the ad networks have certain traffic requirements, so for starters the best option is to start with Google Adsense, which work on a pay-per-click basis.
If you have a good stream of USA traffic you can consider joining AzoogleAds, which work quite well on pay-per-action basis.
Some networks work on pay-per-view system, but normally will have high traffic (and origin) requirements.
Selling your ads by your own is recommended when you have a really huge blog, that you can attract advertisers by your own.
Some blog that have contents that doesn’t meet most ad networks’ requirement will have to consider selling ads on their own.
Sell Products
Same like selling advertisement, you can sell products from a product network or sell products of your own.
The most popular product affiliate program is Amazon and Commission Junction.
Depends on the topic of your blog, you might find other specific product affiliate that offer some very good commissions on selling their products.
You can sell your own products if any, but there will be lots of setting up to be done to sell your own products.
Donations
There are a few famous bloggers that make a decent income from donation alone, but there’s not too many similar cases.
Most bloggers will use donation as part of their income stream.

When you are getting good and popular with your blog, you might be invited to write for journals, magazines or other blogs on a pay basis.
There’s possibilites that a famous blogger will be invited for talks, seminars or even made into celebrities. Thre’s a few cases in Taiwan where popular bloggers are invited to movies and music production, I bet it’s happening in other places as well.
