Laziness brings us no where, hardworking does

I have a friend (let’s call him John) that started a blog with identical topic when I started writing a similar blog some 6 months ago.

While I am getting a steady flow of visitors and starting to reap the rewards for that blog, John is still at the middle of no where. So what’s wrong with his blog?

Here are a few things that we did differently..

Directories submission
I submitted my blog to 40-50 directories, most of it being accepted. John submitted to 5.

Link exchange
I requested for link exchanges with more than 150 websites, only about 20 accepted my request, fine enough. John sent less than 10 request, he got one.

Contents
Over the past 6 months, I’ve written 134 articles for that blog. John wrote 27.

To conclude, I worked harder than John. No big tricks, nothing brilliant, I just worked harder.

There’s many webmaster ranting that their website never get much visitors, and it’s difficult to achieve success. Fact is however.. most webmasters are just plain lazy.

Some of the webmasters just never bother to do the basic stuffs like directories submission, link exchange and content updates.

There’s something that John is doing right though, he’s not giving up yet and vowed that he will change and work harder. Determination matters.

It might take a genius to build a mega website like MySpace or YouTube, but to achieve decent success as a webmaster, hardworking will do.
