Paid posting sparks debates among bloggers
Bloggers have been debating about paid posting lately, where bloggers are getting paid to make a post about some specific product and services.
It’s not something new about sponsored posting, they are various bloggers that are approached by sponsors to endorse their products, and get back some incentives for the endorsement.
The latest development is that some organizations or agencies are popping up to offer a platform for bloggers and advertisers to find each other. Advertisers offer the bucks, bloggers write the review or endorsement.
The system make it much easier for bloggers to have an alternative way to monetize on their blog, and not too soon we’ll see flock of new blogs that set up solely for this money making purpose.
I am not against people to make money from their blog, it’s just a matter of how far we should go and the ethical issues involved.
I was seriously against blogger getting paid to blog on something that they never used, it sounds so irresponsible.. but then a webmaster friend of my mentioned that we never used products or services provided by advertisers from Google Adsense either, and if we are putting the Adsense ads we are indirectly endorsing something we never used. Point taken.
It’s a game of supply and demand in the end, if it works for both side (advertiser and blogger) the concept will prosper, else it will just fade away. We’ll see.
