Advertising with Adbrite, results

Earlier this month I’ve started advertising one of my celebrity blog using Adbrite, as part of my testing to promote blogs with online advertising.

Adbrite is sort of an advertising agency that matches advertisers with publishers. What I did is purchased advertising from listed advertisers that I felt are matching the blog interest. The cost of my advertising is daily/weekly based, sort of CPM basis.

I didn’t spent too much, around USD60 in total across 11 sites. The results are ok; some of the sites do perform better than the others. If calculating in CPC basis it ranged from
$0.01 to $0.54 per click, and average around $0.30.

It’s hard to calculate the conversion rate because I am not selling something; I can see that Google Adsense was not improving much despite the extra visitors, the CTR was dropped during that period, so they are not ad clickers perhaps.

One thing that I am happy about is that some visitors might have turned into repeat visitors, as my advertised website traffic didn’t suffered significant drop after those advertising campaign.

I am thinking of trying Adbrite again, perhaps it could give more concrete conclusions and who knows… I might become one of their regular advertisers.
