We need to be creative for commercial blogging

A report from Technorati shows that in October 2006, about 100,000 new weblogs were created each day.

That’s a large number of blogs created. While I can safely assume that most of the blogs are started for personal pleasure, there are at least some of the blogs that’s created for commercial purpose.

If 10% of the blogs are started to make money from advertising network like Google Adsense; that’s probably means that the existing make-money-oriented bloggers might be facing tough competitions from some newbie.

I have seen lots of new bloggers jumping on bandwagon to make money from blogging; they probably read from other blogs that it’s possible to make money with blogs.

These newbie got a lot to learn before they can become above average bloggers, like SEO, promotion techniques and ads optimization.. so I am not too worried about their competitions.

If my assumption is correct, lots of these new ‘commercial’ bloggers will face the reality that it’s not as easy as it seems to make money online; and will give up midway without achieving results.

One rule that applied for both the newbie and experience bloggers, is that we need to be more creative if we want to achieve decent success to make money from blogging.

Simple blogging like text and photos are probably not attractive enough to stand out from the others. I think the trend will be moving to podcast and video blog very soon.

Advertising program like Google Adsense are looking to integrate ads with videos; while there are other networks that are trying to monetize podcasting. So there’s definitely potential with these 2 concepts.

Off course there are other possibilities for new blogging trend, and as said we need to be creative to discover it. Good luck with that.
