DMOZ extortion

I always have questions about DMOZ editors’ preferences; I have a feeling that some of the editors of a specific niche are running some websites and thus doing their best to reject or eliminate its competitors to be listed by DMOZ.

Seems like a few Chinese will be getting really rich in coming months.

Japanese Companies Slam YouTube

A coalition of Japanese television, music and film companies slammed YouTube Thursday, saying the online video sharing service was not doing enough to rid the site of cartoons and other clips that infringe on copyrights.

The group also expressed skepticism over an automatic video recognition and purging system being developed by YouTube parent Google Inc., questioning the reliability of the technology and saying it was taking too long.

Shoemoney sold AuctionAds

Shoemoney has confirmed Techcrunch’s report that AuctionAds is sold to MediaWhiz.

AuctionAds was launched as a partnership between Shoemoney Media and MediaWhiz in March 2007 and experienced amazing growth… and now it’s fully acquired by MediaWhiz.

Both parties didn’t enclose the price.
